Hermiston High School was evacuated Thursday afternoon after a fire broke out in a school bathroom.
Umatilla County Fire District #1 was dispatched to the high school at 12:14 p.m. Upon arrival, crews, along with the Hermiston Police Department, investigated and found that the sprinkler system in the bathroom successfully extinguished the fire.
Crews helped the high school faculty squeegee the water out of the hallways. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
