A reward of $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the Aug. 16 burglary of Ace Jewelry and Loan in Hermiston in which 20 firearms were taken.

The reward was announced on Wednesday by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the National Shooting Sports Foundation.

ATF is offering a $5,000 reward and the NSSF is also offering $5,000. The ATF and the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the burglary.

Video shows the suspect on Aug. 16 inside the Ace Jewelry and Loan pawn shop in Hermiston.

Store video footage showed that one person entered the business, located at 80876 Highway 395, around 2:52 a.m., taking handguns, rifles and shotguns from display cases.

“These firearms are most likely still in the Umatilla County or Tri-Cities areas,” said Jonathan E. Blais, ATF Seattle Field Division special agent in charge. “The sooner these firearms are recovered and the burglar or burglars brought to justice the safer the community will be.”

According to a press release from the ATF, the suspect who broke into the store is believed to be a white male wearing blue pants and a hoodie-type sweatshirt with a log and wording of the “Dickie” brand. The suspect vehicle appears to be a small, dark-colored passenger car with silver wheels.

Anyone with information about the person or persons responsible and/or information leading to the recovery of the stolen firearms should contact ATF at 1-888-283-8477, email ATFTips@atf.gov, or contact ATF through its website at 222.atf/gov/contact/atftips.

Tips may also be submitted to ATF using the ReportIt app, available on both Google Play and the Apple App Store, or by visiting www.reportit.com.

Tips can also be called in to the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office at 541-966-3651.
