New snow began falling Sunday afternoon and is expected to continue to cover the Lower Columbia Region through early Christmas morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory that will be in effect until about 6 p.m. Christmas Day.
Winter weather advisories mean periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibility.
The weather service is calling for two to four inches of new snow to fall by Monday morning causing slick road conditions.
In Hermiston over the weekend, kids were grabbing their sleds and heading to whatever hill they could find with Butte Park being the favored spot. Chances are good that more kids with new sleds will keep the park busy during Christmas vacation.
