The Hermiston area might get a little snow today, but then again, it might not.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a “wintry mix” of weather for today and tonight with “occasional flurries” and “freezing drizzle” (whatever that is). We’re definitely in for some patchy freezing fog in the early-morning hours throughout the week.

The high temperatures during the week will be around the freezing point, but the weather should warm up by Monday, reaching temperatures of near 50.

An air stagnation advisory is in effect for the Lower Columbia Basin until Friday. A ridge of high pressure will continue to dominate the weather pattern at least until the end of the week. Inversions will keep pollutants trapped near the surface resulting in poor air quality.
