Fred Flores Passes Away at 67

Sijifredo R. “Fred” Flores died on July 1, 2018 at his home in Irrigon at the age of 67.

He was born on Aug. 7, 1950 in La Villa, Texas to Pedro Flores and Adelaida Reyes.

Fred was raised in Texas and married Angelica Cantu on June 22, 1969 in Edinburg, Texas. They lived in Idaho and Washington before settling in Irrigon in 1983, where he had lived since.

Fred was a truck driver, transporting agricultural crops for many years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, cooking, watching western movies, yard work and gardening. Fred was always there to help others, whether it was working on a project or just listening to anyone needing someone to talk with.

He is survived by his wife, Angie Flores; children, Sijifredo Jr., Rudy, Gabriel, Israel, Efrain, Araceli, Jose and Adalberto; stepchildren, Esmeralda Leon and Francisco Torres; sisters, Dominga Sandoval, Yolanda Hernandez and Hilda Barrera; brother, Desiderio Flores; numerous grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and one great grandson.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Chriselda and Mellissa Flores; brothers, Pablo, Pedro Jr., Juan and David; and a sister, Elva.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 5 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston.

Burial will follow at the Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Irrigon.
