UMATILLA COUNTY — It’s time to roll up your sleeves as CHI St. Anthony Hospital and Good Shepherd Health Care System are hosting free drive-thru flu shot events.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website recommends that people get a flu vaccine each year in the early fall. This allows the body time to build antibodies before the peak influenza season between December and February.
In accordance with the CDC’s recommended timeframe, St. Anthony and Good Shepherd are offering the convenience of free drive-thru flu shots. Both events will have standard and high-dose vaccines (for ages 65 and older) while supplies last.

In addition to the standard vaccine, the high-dose option will be available for ages 65 and older while supplies last.
In Pendleton, adults can receive a flu shot on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Hatley lot, near Walmart and Oxford Suites, off Southwest Court Avenue. For questions, call 541-278-3262.
In Hermiston, flu vaccines are available for ages 6 months and older on Saturday, Oct. 25, 8 a.m. to noon in the Good Shepherd parking lot — enter on West Elm Avenue and proceed to the drive-up check-in tent. For questions, call 541-667-3509.
