Family and friends of a Hermiston woman battling cancer are asking the community for donations to help with her medical costs.
Stefanie Reinhart, daughter of Nancy Lang, was diagnosed in July 2012 with stage 4 breast cancer. Stefanie underwent a double-mastectomy with chemotherapy and radiation. In March of this year, doctors found cancerous tumors in her brain. Again, Stefanie, who turns 30 on Aug. 19, underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatments as well as surgery. Unfortunately, the family recently learned the cancer has spread to the lining of her brain and into her spinal fluid. She also has viral meningitis in her spinal fluid. Treatment options are now being established to manage the pain and keep the nausea under control.
Stefanie is married to Shane Reinhart and they have a 5-year-old son, Garrett.
The Reinhart family is also facing the struggle of paying for Stefanie’s monthly insurance premium of $1,270. Anyone wishing to make a donation to the family can visit any U.S. Bank branch office with a contribution, referencing the “Stefanie Reinhart Donation Account.” Donations can also be given to Arla Smith of Umatilla Electric’s Community Relations Department.
