The Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington in Service Unit 22 would like to express their deep appreciation on Veterans Day for those who have served their country.

On Nov. 11, the girls and their families will host a spaghetti dinner that is free to all veterans and current members of the military. Each honored guest is invited to bring along a guest of their own. It will be held at the National Guard Armory in Hermiston from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The evening also will also include a short program and door prizes. As a matter of fact, some Girl Scouts work several hours — even days — before the event to get ready for it. Each centerpiece and thank you card is handmade, and some of the girls attend a four-hour patriotic program where they learn the importance behind the service these men and women have given their country.

Reservations are not needed. For more information, contact Michelle Kane, service team member, at 541-564-5985.
