The Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington Service Unit 22 regretfully announce that they will not be able to host a Veterans’ Day dinner on Nov. 11 as they have for the past several years.

Some of the Girl Scout troops, however, are planning to help behind the scenes with the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce’s annual breakfast set for 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

“We will miss seeing our friends this year,” said Michelle Kane, volunteer communications coordinator for Service Unit 22, “but we plan to bring back the event next year. We wish to thank all veterans and current members of the military for their service to our country.”

The Hermiston Elks Lodge will also have a steak dinner for veterans and their spouses, beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
