Umatilla County Commissioner Larry Givens has announced he plans to seek a third term.
Givens, who was first elected in 2006, said the county faces a number of challenges and that he wants to play a part in helping the county meet them. Among the challenges facing the county, according to Givens, is funding county services, law enforcement issues, water issues and economic development.
Givens said his leadership positions on state and federal steering committees, along with his role with the Association of Oregon Counties are an asset to the county. He said he looks forward to working with his fellow commissioners, Bill Elfering and George Murdock, to tackle the problems facing the county.
