Glenda Kay Phillips of Hermiston died on April 30, 2020 in Richland, Wash. at the age of 76.
She was born on March 23, 1944 in Niangua, Mo. to George and Geneva Reese Cain.
Glenda was raised in Rieth and attended schools in Rieth and Pendleton. She worked for 27 years in the Engineering Department for Umatilla Electric Cooperative. Glenda later worked for the city of Hermiston in the Planning Department for 3 ½ years before retiring in 2006.
She was an active member of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters as the treasurer. Glenda enjoyed tending to her garden and cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was an extraordinary woman whom everyone loved; she devoted her life to helping and serving others.
She is survived by her children, Teresa and Robert Manning, Christy Phillips, Glen and Gina (Uitto) Phillips, and Denise Phillips; her siblings, Jerry and Janice Cain, Janice and Al Smith, Wesley and Janice Cain, Susan and Brett Swearingen, Timothy and Leslie Cain, Randall and Sue Cain, and Cindy and Mark Hobbs; grandchildren, Brandon Saucillo, Bryson Phillips, Joshua Phillips and Emily Manning; great grandchildren, Cruz, Josiah, Aliyanna and Kristian Rodriguez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Donald Phillips and Dennis Phillips; brother, Larry Cain; sister, Marlois Keeney; and a grandson, Christopher Mykel Salamanca.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be announced at a later date.
Burial will be at the Hermiston Cemetery.
