Goldendale’s Maryhill Museum Hosting Festival of Fiber Arts

The Maryhill Museum of Art in Goldendale, Wash. is hosting the Festival of Fiber Arts on Saturday, Aug. 6.

Families are invited to the free event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to explore fiber art in all its forms.

Activities kick off at 10:30 a.m. with live sheep shearing. There will be artist demos and hands-on weaving, quilting, felting, spinning and carding throughout the day. Thirteen regional artists, who are part of The Exquisite Gorge Project II: Fiber Arts, will be constructing a 70-foot sculpture and talking about their work.

The event also includes a stash buster/builder opportunity, so guests can bring excess yarn or take some and start a new stash. For more information, call 509-773-3733 or email
