Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation Awards $99,065 in Grants

Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation has awarded $99,065 in spring grants to organizations in West Umatilla and Morrow counties.

The following organizations received grants from the foundation:

  • The Arc of Umatilla County – To fund activity nights, camps, and other disability awareness events
  • Boardman Parks and Recreation – Swimming safety equipment
  • City of Hermiston – Partial funding to resurface the Spray Park
  • Good Shepherd Community Health and Outreach – Cooking Classes for Seniors, Dentures, and Colorectal Screening Kits
  • GSCHC Emergency Department – Services for teens from Community Counseling Solutions
  • Hermiston Police Department – Initiation of Annual Faith and Blue Weekend Events
  • Made to Thrive – After-school activities for students meant to encourage academic participation
  • Oregon East Symphony – Concert Production
  • Seventh Day Adventist Church – Shelving, clothing racks and other updates for Community Service Building
  • Trucare Pregnancy Clinic – Medical supplies and equipment for prenatal care
  • Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office – Partial funding for a wellness program for police officers
  • Umatilla County Search and Rescue – Purchase of a drone

Grant funding is made possible by planned giving and community support.

“Because we live in an area where the culture is to make our communities better, residents consistently give to the Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation,” said Liz Marvin, the foundation’s executive director. “The next grant cycle will close the end of July and we encourage nonprofit organizations to apply for funding.”

To apply for a grant awarded this fall, submit applications by July 31 online or by mail via application that may be downloaded and printed online.
