HERMISTON, OR – Good Shepherd Health Care System (GSHCS) is pleased to welcome Family Nurse Practitioner Ashley Christensen to our medical staff. Ashley brings her expertise in both primary care and sleep medicine to the Good Shepherd Primary Care Clinic located at 600 NW 11th St, Suite E-37 in Hermiston, OR.

“We are excited to add Ashley, a Hermiston native, to our Primary Care team,” shared GSHCS President & CEO Art Mathisen. “Many know Ashley and her family, and the outstanding care she provides to her patients.”

Christensen spent most of her school years in the Hermiston School District and graduated from Pendleton High School. Her journey into medicine was shaped by both drive and curiosity. “I’ve always thrived on challenge — whether it was on the field or in the classroom — and medicine offers that same constant challenge,” said Christensen. “It feeds both my curiosity and my desire to make a meaningful impact.”

With more than six years of experience providing care across Eastern Oregon, Christensen has built a strong foundation in both family medicine and sleep health. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing from Maryville University in St. Louis, MO, after earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, OR, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

While she provides full-spectrum primary care, Christensen has a special interest in sleep medicine — helping patients improve their quality of sleep and manage sleep-related conditions that impact overall health. “Good sleep is fundamental to good health,” Christensen explained. “Whether it’s helping someone understand the root cause of their fatigue or managing a long-term sleep disorder, I enjoy working with patients to find solutions that truly improve their daily lives. My philosophy is simple: every patient is unique. I’m here to listen, to guide, and to help people make informed, meaningful decisions about their health.”

Good Shepherd Primary Care offers comprehensive primary care and sleep medicine services focused on prevention, wellness, and personalized care. Services include:

  • Evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders
  • Sleep apnea testing and management
  • Insomnia and fatigue assessments
  • Management of chronic conditions
  • Preventative care and health screenings
  • Same-day acute visits
  • Minor surgical procedures
  • Health education and counseling
  • Coordination with specialists as needed

In her spare time, Christensen enjoys staying active outdoors, supporting her kids in sports, and spending quality time with her family. “Hermiston has always felt like home,” said Christensen. “My husband is a local farmer, and we’re raising our five children here. I value the close-knit community, the strong relationships, and the opportunity to practice medicine in a way that’s personal and meaningful.”

Ashley Christensen, ARNP, is now accepting new patients at Good Shepherd Primary Care. To schedule an appointment, call 541.567.5305 or visit www.gshealth.org.
