Good Shepherd Health Care System (GSHCS) is offering free COVID-19 vaccines today.

The free vaccines include initial series (1st & 2nd) and booster (3rd) doses.

The vaccines will be given from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 620 N.W. 11th St., in Hermiston – in the parking lot next to the Good Shepherd Medical Plaza.  No appointment is needed, and community members should bring their vaccination cards with them if applicable.

During the drive-thru event, Good Shepherd will administer the Moderna vaccine (authorized for those 18 and older) and the Pfizer vaccine (authorized for those 12 and older), the Pediatric Pfizer vaccine (authorized for 5-12 years), as well as the Johnson & Johnson vaccine (authorized for those 18 and older). For ages 5 to 14 a parent or guardian must be present.  In accordance with Oregon Law, patients 15 and older can self-consent for the vaccine.

Patients must pre-register for the drive-thru event by printing their registration form located at www.gshealth.org/drivethruvaccines, filling out the form in advance (for each person), and bringing the form with them to the event on Feb. 11.  If a patient is unable to print off the pre-registration form, a form will be made available at the event via registration stations – but it will increase their wait time.

COVID-19 vaccines are also available by appointment at Good Shepherd Medical Group, Primary Care Clinic, Urgent Care and Pediatrics Department for which community members are encouraged to call ahead to schedule.  Other local locations offering COVID-19 vaccines are listed on Umatilla County Public Health’s website at https://ucohealth.net/covid-events-new/hermiston.

Individuals receiving a vaccine should be prepared for 15 minutes of required monitoring after vaccine administration. Community members may call and leave a message on Good Shepherd’s COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline at 541-667-3426 if they have any questions about vaccinations.
