Beginning on Monday, Jan. 20, the Good Shepherd Diabetes and Nutrition Center will offer the Achieve, Conquer, Thrive (ACT) program, a lifestyle improvement course focused on nutrition and fitness for all adults.
Registered dietitian nutritionists teach attendees to work toward a healthy weight; learn to make healthy food and activity choices; improve blood pressure and cholesterol; prevent or manage chronic conditions; and achieve health goals. The course consists of nine group classes, including two food preparation classes, with the opportunity for private sessions.
Because of a grant from Good Shepherd Health Care System that covers nearly 90 percent of the cost, the registration fee is only $135 for this $980 program (payment plans are available). Pre-registration is required and is not available online. For more information and to register, call 541-667-3517.
