Matter of Balance is a free eight-week course for those 60 and over. It emphasizes practical strategies to reduce fear of falling and increase activity levels. Classes take place on Mondays, Jan. 14-March 4 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Hermiston Senior Center, 255 N.E. Jump Starting Weight Loss Through Exercise is for adults 18 and over who have tried unsuccessfully to start or maintain an exercise program. This free workshop can give you the information you need to improve your health and decrease body fat. It goes from noon to 1 p.m. in Good Shepherd conference room 2 and is available on Saturday, Jan. 19; Saturday, Jan. 26; or Wednesday, Jan. 30. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
