On Tuesday, Nov. 28, Good Shepherd Health Care System (GSHCS) will host an open house for the new Women’s Center, along with a New Physician Welcome Reception.

The event will be held in the North Wing of the Good Shepherd Medical Plaza. The Women’s Center is part of the North Wing Expansion Project, which broke ground on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016.

The new Women’s Center will feature 11,000 square feet of clinic space which more than doubles the current location.

According to Vice President of Good Shepherd Medical Group Troy LeGore, “This new space will be able to help handle the population growth we have experienced in our service area in the past few years,” said Vice President of Good Shepherd Medical Group Troy LeGore. “With more women in the community, we want to be able to accommodate both obstetric and gynecology (OB-GYN) needs. This space allows us to keep up with our communities demand for women’s services.”

For providers this space is a dream come true.

“This is something I have been dreaming about for years,” said OB-GYN Gary Trupp, M.D., who had been involved in the planning for the new Women’s Center since its inception. “I can’t tell you enough how important this space is to Hermiston and Eastern Oregon. We have desperately needed to expand to meet the needs of the women in the communities we serve. The new space is warm, welcoming, and inviting. It has all the modern niceties and amenities women expect to receive. It will attract and retain top physicians and midwives – which will give our community another option for their obstetric care. I hope the women of our community take advantage of this opportunity to come and meet our Women’s Center team and tour the facility for themselves before we officially open in December.”

Those who attend the open house will also be given an opportunity to meet new physicians – general surgeon R. Todd C. Jones, M.D., orthopedic surgeon Patrick Harrison, D.O., pediatrician Allan Damian, M.D., family medicine physician Matthew Carlson, D.O., and chiropractor Christopher Scott, D.C.

The Women’s Center Open House and New Physician Welcome Reception will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the main lobby of the Good Shepherd Medical Plaza located at 620 NW 11th St., in Hermiston.
