HERMISTON, OR – Good Shepherd Health Care System (GSHCS) is pleased to welcome Dr. Isabella Flores-Merritt, Board-Certified General Surgeon, who is now accepting patients at Good Shepherd General Surgery, located at 620 NW 11th St,
Suite M-202, in Hermiston.
“Dr. Flores-Merritt brings a wealth of experience and surgical expertise to our General Surgery team,” said Art Mathisen, GSHCS President & CEO. “Her advanced training in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery will help expand access to high-quality surgical care for patients across our region.”
Dr. Flores-Merritt has more than 22 years of surgical experience and is committed to improving her patients’ quality of life through personalized, high-quality surgical care. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, and completed her General Surgery Residency at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center,
Temple University, in Johnstown, PA, where she also served as Chief Resident at the Level 1 Trauma Center. She additionally completed a Post-Baccalaureate Program at the University of California Davis and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Dominican University in San Rafael, CA. Dr. Flores-Merritt was also recognized as a National Hispanic Scholar in 1989 and 1990.
“My philosophy of care is centered on treating every patient with dignity, compassion, and respect,” said Dr. Flores-Merritt. “I take the time to listen to my patients’ concerns, explain treatment options clearly, and provide the same level of care I would want for my own family members.”
Dr. Flores-Merritt provides a wide range of surgical services, including minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic-assisted procedures designed to offer smaller incisions, less pain, and quicker recovery times for patients. Her expertise includes hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, intestinal procedures, breast cancer surgery, and other general surgical
treatments.
