Good Shepherd Health Care System will host the second annual Community Meeting next Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Hermiston High School, 600 S. First St.
The free event goes from 5 to 8 p.m. and includes a health booth fair, food, door prizes, an annual address from President and CEO Dennis Burke, and special guest speaker, Marcus Engel.
Engel was blinded and nearly killed after being hit by a drunk driver in college and is now a certified national speaker, author of five best-selling books, and adjunct professor at Notre Dame, where he teaches pre-med students the art of “being with.” He holds a Bachelor of Science in sociology from Missouri State University and a master’s in narrative medicine from Columbia University in New York City. He received an honorary doctorate from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
