The completed renovation includes constructing a newly expanded bar, new craft beer taps, updated flooring, a casual lounge, and new lighting. Inspired by vintage industrial design, the result is a look that’s clean yet approachable.
The new restaurant name is rooted in the area’s history and community. The legend goes that Sam Boardman, the founder of Boardman, kept two water barrels in his truck (which he nicknamed Hoopie) to water local trees.
The updated menu includes community favorites and new items with a focus on savory, well-prepared American dishes. With longstanding relationships with local Columbia Basin farms and producers, the grill will continue to source many menu ingredients locally.
Leading the project are restaurateurs with COHO Services, a Pacific Northwest hospitality management company that has managed River Lodge and Grill for 15 years.
