Grant Money Available to County Businesses Impacted by COVID-19

The Umatilla Electric Cooperative Business Resource Center is reminding businesses in Umatilla County that grants are available to those impacted by the coronavirus.

Umatilla County Economic Development is using CARES Act funding for the purpose of providing one-time, short-term financial support to small businesses and sole proprietors impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The grants are for $5,000 and will be dispersed throughout the county proportionately. The deadline to apply is Aug. 26.

Qualifications

  • A business must be headquartered and operating within Umatilla County and be directly affected by a government-ordered change in service or closure due to COVID-19
  • Must have 50 or fewer employees
  • Sole proprietors are eligible
  • Only 1 application per business entity
  • Applicant must state the financial impact caused by COVID-19 to the business
