The Umatilla County Health Department and Good Shepherd Health Care System will present a free Community Naloxone Training event on March 11 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston. Local professionals will talk about addiction and the importance of carrying and knowing how to use Naloxone.
Oregon has one of the highest rates of misuse of prescription opioids in the nation. In Umatilla County alone, Naloxone has been administered by emergency medical services at a rate 34 percent higher than the state average (Oregon Health Authority, 2020).
