Harriet was born on Oct. 7, 1930 to Harry A. and Mary E. Smith in Irrigon. She married Rogie B. Hinkley in October 1947 and together they had four children. She and Rogie were married for 54 years at the time of his death in 2001.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; her husband Rogie; daughters, Cheryl Palmer and Peggy Barnes; brothers, Charles Markham and Jack Smith; sisters, Joy Pardinie, Pat Minnick and Norma Huwe.
Harriet is survived by sons, Ronald and wife Beverly Hinkley of Lewiston, Idaho, and Donald Hinkley and companion Viola Scott of Boardman; sister, Lois Smith of Tacoma, Wash.; six grandchildren, Michelle Stephens, Carissa Barnes, Kirsten Mohedano, Jamie Schrader, Chad Hinkley and Brent Hinkley;15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Per Harriet’s request, her remains have been cremated and there will be no service.
