The Heppner Mustangs walloped the host Stanfield Tigers football team by a count of 60-6 in Friday’s league outing between two unbeaten teams.
With the win, Heppner improves its record to 7-0 on the season. The Mustangs host Irrigon in a 2A Columbia Basin outing on Friday, Oct. 23. The Knights go into the outing with a record of 5-2. Irrigon lost 37-12 in their recent league test against Weston-McEwen.
With the loss, Stanfield drops to 6-1 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Pilot Rock/Nixyaawii Community to confront the Rockets in a 2A Columbia Basin test on Friday. The Rockets come into the test with a record of 0-6. Pilot Rock/Nixyaawii Community lost 34-20 in their recent league test against Culver.
