Here’s What Travelers on OR 237 Can Expect in the Event of Snow

Motorists who plan to drive on OR 237 between North Powder and Union this winter can expect to see an accumulation of at least two inches of snow before seeing plows.

This summer, the Oregon Department of Transportation applied chip seal to this section of OR 237 (La Grande-Baker Highway) between North Powder and Union. In the event of snow, ODOT crews will begin plowing when there is an accumulation of at least two inches. ODOT will maintain this condition throughout winter as plowing roads with less snow may damage the new road surface.

Drivers on other Baker and Union county roads can expect the same level of service as last year, with ODOT’s focus on keeping priority routes clear for safety and commerce, though challenging weather may still create temporary delays.
