With just 10 days left in the contest to win $20,000 worth of new playground equipment, Hermiston continues to grow its lead against the city of Portland.

As of around 2 p.m. today, Hermiston had 11,336 votes while Portland had 9,164 with Tillamook third with 1,539 votes.

Residents are encouraged to vote until March 20 when the contest closes.

Whichever of the three cities has the most votes by March 20 will win the equipment. If Hermiston wins, the new equipment will be installed at Sunset Park, which is currently closed due to old, unsafe playground equipment.

The opportunity is made available by the Portland Trailblazers’ MODA Assist program.
