The Hermiston City Council filled its vacant seat with the appointment of David McCarthy on Tuesday.
McCarthy will fill out the term of John Kirwan, who resigned after accepting a job that will take him out of town frequently.
McCarthy, the sales manager at KOHU/The Q in Hermiston, was the only person to apply to fill Kirwan’s seat. His term expires in January.
