The Greater Hermiston Community Foundation is featured in this year’s Valley Giving Guide, an opportunity to support nonprofits and charitable organizations doing good work in their communities across the Walla Walla Valley and Columbia Basin.

The Valley Giving Guide is co-hosted by the Blue Mountain Community Foundation and United Way of the Blue Mountains and includes 170 organizations from across the region. It is a resource for identifying local nonprofits, making a secure donation, and magnifying your support.

Donations made through the Valley Giving Guide before Dec. 31 are boosted by the Bonus Pool, funded by a variety of businesses, foundations, and associations throughout the region. In 2023, the effort raised more than $4 million for regional nonprofits. Cash and check donations will also be gratefully received at 975 S.E. Fourth St., in Hermiston.

“The generosity of the Greater Hermiston community is what keeps us moving forward and excited about the future here,” said Greg Harris, chair of the Greater Hermiston Foundation. “The Valley Giving Guide is a simple and effective way to make end-of-year charitable donations, and we encourage everyone to visit the site and make a donation this holiday season.”

Local donors can help the Greater Hermiston Community Foundation win additional funds for most money raised, most weekly donors, and most unique donors over the course of the season. Visit the Valley Giving Guide website for more information about contests.

In 2024, the Greater Hermiston Community Foundation awarded more than $100,000 in grants to local organizations that create a lasting benefit to the Greater Hermiston area through education and youth programs, health and wellness initiatives, arts and cultural enrichment activities, and more.
