The Greater Hermiston Community Foundation (GHCF) Board of Directors today announced it has received donations in excess of $200,000 in 2018.

Over this past year, the GHCF has worked to spread the message of establishing an endowment fund that will never spend its donations. Only the earnings from the contributions will be available for grants, allowing gifts to the foundation to go on into eternity, always giving back to the community.

“We started the fundraising in earnest at the beginning of 2018 with the goal of raising $200,000 before we begin the grant awarding process,” said Greg Harris, president of GHCF. “Surpassing this first major milestone will allow the GHCF to award its first grants in early 2020.”

The GHCF is a tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) public charity that enables people to make donations to the Foundation for community enhancement projects.
