The Greater Hermiston Community Foundation (GHCF) has formed a partnership with Alan and John Wilcox to create The Wilcox Family Endowment Fund.
The endowment fund will make contributions to support children’s education, care, and health in the greater Hermiston area.
Raised in Hermiston, Alan and John Wilcox were involved in the Wilcox Furniture family business for many years and provided an initial gift of $100,000 to establish the endowment fund.
“We believe that all of us have an opportunity to give back by helping our neighbors and community in whatever way we can,” said John Wilcox.
The Greater Hermiston Community Foundation will house and manage the Wilcox Family Endowment Fund through an annual application, selection, and grant process.
According to Alan Wilcox, “The Wilcox family chose to work with the Greater Hermiston Community Foundation to most effectively focus our charitable giving on the children of Hermiston and the surrounding area,” said Alan Wilcox.
“The youth of our community have shown the ability to do amazing things when given the tools to be successful,” said Greg Harris, GHCF board president. “We are proud to support the Wilcox Family Endowment Fund so they can quickly get aid and much-needed funding to further those efforts.”
