The Hermiston City Council will evaluate the performance of City Manager Byron Smith during tonight’s city council meeting.
The annual review will take place during an executive session immediately following the regular meeting.
After the executive session, the council will reconvene and will consider approving amendments to Smith’s contract.
Smith began his tenure as Hermiston city manager in August 2014, succeeding longtime City Manager Ed Brookshier.
During last year’s performance review, the council amended Smith’s contract by approving a $3,500 annual raise, as well as an additional week of vacation.
Tonight’s council meeting is at 7 p.m. at Hermiston City Hall.
