New student enrollment for the 2013-14 school year is now open for the Hermiston School District.
The district is holding enrollment for new students entering kindergarten through eighth grade now through Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the individual school buildings. Secretaries are available to enroll from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. If parents or guardians require a different time, they should contact the buildings directly to schedule an appointment (building contact numbers can be found below). Translation services are available on call if assistance is needed.
The school district will have a booth at the Umatilla County Fair in Cooper Hall. Families may stop by and update contact information or to complete or pick up free and reduced lunch applications.
New students entering ninth through 12th grades may enroll at Hermiston High School on Friday, Aug. 16, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Parents or guardians enrolling students new to the district are asked to provide a record of the student’s birth (such as a birth certificate, baptismal certificate, or passport); proof of residence/physical address; health records; and previous report card or transcript grades to complete the process.
Elementary students returning to the district this fall, are not required to register at the school unless the family has moved over the summer. Returning students may arrive Monday, Aug. 26, for the first day of classes.
Middle school registration for returning and recently enrolled students will be held at the middle school buildings. Armand Larive Middle School registration will be Monday, Aug. 12, from 1 to 7 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sandstone Middle School registration will be Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 1 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Registration for Hermiston High School students will be the week of Aug. 12-16. Incoming freshman can register Monday, Aug. 12. Seniors are invited to register Tuesday, Aug. 13. Students entering their junior year can register Wednesday, Aug. 14, and incoming sophomores will register Thursday, Aug. 15. Families may register their students anytime from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on these days.
When registering a middle or high school-level student, fees (current and past) may be paid onsite by credit card, check, or cash. Fee payments may also be made online, through InTouch.
