Hermiston was one of five prospective locations for an AutoZone distribution center that is nearing completion at Pasco, the Tri-City Herald reports.
The $50 million project will employ about 200 at full operations and serve 235 stores in seven states.
The identity of AutoZone as a prospective Pasco business was a secret until 2016, when news emerged that the company behind the effort code-named Project Sunrise had selected Pasco over Ellensburg, Yakima, Hermiston and Richland, the Herald reported.
