The 50th Hermiston Farm Fair offers an opportunity for people involved in agriculture to convene, connect, and commit to learning.

The annual forum and trade show will take place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 29 and 30, at the Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center. It is hosted by Oregon State University.

“It will be an excellent platform to meet old friends and visit various vendors,” according to OSU Extension agronomist and Farm Fair speaker Ruijun Qin.

Preregistration is required for the event, which will offer sessions focused on potatoes, vegetables, general agriculture, best management practices and cereal.

Each session is made up of 30-minute seminars focused on various topics within the broader areas of agriculture, such as disease management of potatoes or the potential for carbon sequestration in Oregon’s soils.

Seminars will be given by local, regional and national experts, according to the OSU website, including researchers from various OSU locations and Washington State University.

There also will be opportunities for Oregon, Washington and Idaho pesticide recertification credits and Certified Crop Adviser continuing education credits during the sessions.
