A father and son from the Hermiston area have been arrested in connection with the theft of thousands of dollars’ worth of items in four different states.
Robert Stephen Ellwood, 56, and his son, Robert William Ellwood, 28, were arrested by Beaverton detectives.
According to a news release, the Beaverton Police Department began looking into a series of crimes allegedly committed by the two men. The release states the two had been allegedly stealing more than $72,000 worth of health and beauty aids such as Rogaine, Crest whitening strips, razors, pregnancy tests, power tooth brush heads, vitamins and more from grocery stores such as Safeway and Alberston’s. The thefts allegedly took place in Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon during an eight-week period.
