Due to the overwhelming public response and large number of Funland Park fence pickets to be sorted, the Hermiston Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting an event on Sept. 20-22 at the Hermiston Community Center for people to claim the 900-plus pickets.
The parks department has retained everything with a name on it. Everyone can swing by between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and claim their fence pickets and plaques. There is no need to call and set up an appointment.
Those who cannot make the event dates can contact the parks department after Sept. 22 at 541-667-5018. More information will be posted on the department’s Facebook page.
