With their playoff hopes on the line Friday night in Richland, the Hermiston Bulldogs notched a crucial win against the Hanford Falcons in overtime, 42-35.
Trailing 21-14 going into the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs handed the ball to Wyatt Noland who scored twice in the final quarter, along with Youbani Razon’s touchdown reception from Andrew James, to give Hermiston a 35-28 lead late in the game.
A 2-yard touchdown run by Hanford’s Jared DeVine sent the game into overtime where Noland found the end zone on a 7-yard run to give the Bulldogs the win.
Hermiston is now 5-2 in the Mid-Columbia Conference and 6-2 overall. While Chiawana is the conference leader at 6-1, Hanford and Richland are with Hermiston at 5-2. The Bulldogs have lost to Chiawana and have beaten both Hanford and Richland.
Next week, the Bulldogs host the Kamiakin Braves who are 4-3 in conference play and 4-4 overall while Richland and Hanford battle each other.
