Hermiston Man Charged with Menacing

A Hermiston man was charged with menacing and second-degree disorderly conduct Saturday after allegedly brandishing a weapon at another person.

Early Saturday morning, around 2:30 a.m., Hermiston police officers were dispatched to the area of Elm Avenue and N. Highway 395 on a report that a male was threatening another male. The officers arrived at the scene and located Kevin Michael Besler, 20, 405 S.W. 11th St., No. 50, who matched the physical description of the person reported to be with a weapon. Besler was found in the area of N. Highway 395 and W. Cherry Avenue.

Besler was taken into custody without incident. During his detainment, however, a black BB gun resembling a handgun fell to the ground from his vest. Besler was lodged in the Umatilla County Jail.
