A Hermiston man was involved in a fatal accident last week that took the life of an Idaho resident.
According to KIFI/KIDK in Idaho, Kathleen Garcia, 36, of American Falls, Idaho was killed in a multi-vehicle crash at milepost 40 on Interstate 15 near Arimo at around 6:12 a.m., Wednesday, March 22
The Idaho State Police say Garcia was driving southbound in a 2004 Saturn Ion. She struck the rear of a 2015 Freightliner driven by Shane Jones, 41, of Pocatello, Idaho. KIFI/KIDK reports that Garcia’s vehicle went off the shoulder, overcorrected and rolled coming to rest in the wrong direction of the interstate. The car was then struck again by a 2008 Peterbuilt, driven by Dale Dean, 52, of Hermiston.
Garcia was wearing her seatbelt but died of her injuries at the scene.
The crash is still under investigation.
