The Hermiston Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a free Kids Fishing Derby this Saturday, March 25 at the McNary Ponds.
The ponds will be stocked full of trout, and special fish will be tagged for prizes.
All normal fishing regulations are in effect. Those attending must bring their own fishing pole and gear. An adult must accompany all children, and each fish caught must be reeled in by a child 2-11 years old. Adults will be able to fish at 12 noon.
The event, sponsored by Rogers Toyota of Hermiston, goes from 10 a.m. to noon. For more information, call the parks department at 541-667-5018.
