A man who had been sought by the Hermiston Police Department for the past five years was caught and arrested Friday.
Rojerro A. Espino, 26, was arrested around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 13 after the department received information that he was back in Hermiston. Espino, who had several warrants for his arrest, was found at 320 E. Beebe Ave., #A in Hermiston.
Hermiston Police Chief Jason Edmiston said his department got word earlier this month that Espino was back in town visiting. After being sighted Friday morning entering the residence on Beebe Avenue by officers, Espino was taken into custody without incident.
He was lodged in the Umatilla County Jail on arrest warrants for failure to appear on two counts of third-degree assault, two counts of harassment and one count of disorderly conduct out of Hermiston Circuit Court. He was also charged with failure to appear on a court release agreement out of Hermiston Municipal Court, and contempt of court for failure to pay a fine out of Hermiston Municipal court.
“I am very proud of the tenacity our officers displayed with seeking out this individual who has failed for so long to be accountable for his actions,” Edmiston said. “I am hopeful all of Mr. Espino’s bad acts can be combined together and we can keep him out of Hermiston.”
