The Hermiston Police Department is asking the public’s help in locating a wanted suspect.
Lt. Randy Studebaker said the department is seeking the whereabouts of Jacob Arthur McKeever, 29, who fled on foot late Monday night after an officer attempted to pull him over for a vehicle lighting violation. According to Studebaker, the McKeever was driving a burgundy Mercury van registered in his name. When the van was near the intersection of N.E. Fifth Street and E. Gladys Avenue, McKeever ditched the van and took off on foot.
Studebaker said the van was full of property that he suspects was stolen. McKeever is wanted on both local and Idaho warrants for drug-related offenses.
Studebaker said the van has been impounded. He said if anyone sees McKeever, do not attempt to detain him. Instead, call 911 or the non-emergency number, 541-567-5519.
