The Hermiston Police Department is encouraging anyone with expired or unneeded prescription medication to dispose of them at the HPD lobby on April 27.

The Hermiston Police Department will again be participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Medication Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 27.

The event goes on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day is designed to encourage people to safely dispose of old or unneeded medication at the police department’s disposal box in the main lobby.

“Though we always have our medication disposal box for use, we highly encourage anyone needing to dispose of any unused or expired prescription medications, to bring them down on April 27,” said Cpt. Scott Clark.

Acceptable medications include pills or patches and plastic containers, but the department does not accept needles, liquids or glass containers.
