Money Slated for Taxiway Re-Alignment at Airport
The city of Hermiston is expected to receive a $300,000 Connect Oregon grant for a taxiway project at the Hermiston Airport.
The city applied for the grant in December for the taxiway re-alignment project at the airport. The engineering and design portion of the project will be done this year.
The total cost of the project is $2,944,444 with $2,644,444 coming from a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The FAA requires a 10-percent match of non-federal money, which is where the $300,000 Connect Oregon grant comes in.
The project is expected to be complete next year.
