Hermiston Resident Elaine Myers Dies at Age 73

Elaine B. Myers died on May 25, 2014 at her home in Hermiston at the age of 73.

She was born on Nov. 23, 1940 in Republic, Wash., to Morris and Carrie Bremner Wilcox. Elaine was raised and attended school in Echo. She later attended college in Portland where she met her future husband during the Rose Festival. Elaine married Donald Lee Myers, who was serving in the United States Navy. They were stationed in Illinois and later in San Diego before moving to Hermiston in 1980 where she has lived since. Elaine worked for Marlette Homes in Hermiston for over 25 years in many different capacities. She remained active after retirement volunteering in the Foster Grandparent Program at McNary Heights Elementary in Umatilla. Elaine was a longtime active member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed carousel horses, teddy bears, crocheting, and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons: Keith Alan Myers & his wife, Christine, Vancouver, Wash., and Kelly Aaron Myers & his wife, Marcia, Hermiston; sister: Nancy Gifford, Portland; three grandchildren; nieces, nephews, aunt, uncle, and cousins.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Myers; and her parents.
