Hermiston School District Interim Superintendent Tricia Mooney on Monday recommended David Marshall be considered for the human resources director.
Marshall will begin his employment with the district on Oct. 2. Mooney has been filling that role at the same time that she has been serving as the interim superintendent.
Marshall is currently the assistant superintendent for the Milton-Freewater School District. He has been employed with the district since 1994, and has served different roles. He has been the director for human resources, special education, Title III, technology and curriculum, principal for Ferndale Elementary School, McLoughlin High School computer teacher, among other roles.
Marshall obtained his bachelor of arts degree in English through Whitman College in 1990, a master’s degree in teaching from the Evergreen State College in Washington in 1994, and an education specialist degree from Lewis and Clark College in 2015.
“I am very excited about becoming a part of the Hermiston School District team,” he said. “I have admired the work the district does with students for a long time,” said David Marshall, Milton-Freewater assistant superintendent. “My time in Milton-Freewater has been a wonderful experience that provided ample opportunities to learn and grow professionally. While I will miss the friendships I have developed with my colleagues in Milton-Freewater, I look forward to building new connections with the staff in Hermiston.”
