Hermiston School District will hold drive-through Chromebook device checkout sessions at
each of its schools, starting today and continuing through Sept. 4.
To check out a Chromebook, and to be assigned to a class or given a schedule, students must be registered with the Hermiston School District.
Families may pick up a Chromebook for each child in the household, at their attendance area school, on the day assigned according to the student last name:
- Aug. 31, 9 a.m. to Noon and 3 to 6 p.m.: Alpha A-D
- Sept. 1, 9 a.m. to Noon and 3 to 6 p.m.: Alpha E-K
- Sept. 2, 9 a.m. to Noon and 3 to 6 p.m.: Alpha L-Q
- Sept. 3, 9 a.m. to Noon and 3 to 6 p.m.: Alpha R-Z
- Sept. 4, 1 to 4 p.m.: Those unable to make the assigned time
Families will drive up to the appropriate checkout station, and while remaining in their vehicle, a district staff member will come to the car to complete the process.
During the process, elementary and middle school students will pick up their school supplies. Families are not expected to purchase additional supplies for Comprehensive Distance Learning. High school students may receive supplementary materials, depending on the student’s class schedule, and are suggested to purchase a spiral notebook, paper, pencils, a straight edge (e.g. ruler), and highlighters.
Students in grades 9 through 11 may pick up a yearbook during their assigned Chromebook pick up time. Recent high school graduates may pick their yearbook up on Friday, Aug. 28, from 1-4 p.m.
