The Hermiston City Council has an empty seat on the council and is looking for someone to fill it.
The city is seeking letters of application to fill a vacancy on the council for the Ward 2 position for the term expiring Dec. 31, 2014. The seat was vacated last month when George Anderson resigned.
Applicants shall, at the time of appointment and throughout the term of office be a resident of Ward 2, a qualified voter of the state of Oregon and a resident of the city of Hermiston for one year immediately preceding appointment.
Ward 2 is located in the southwest quadrant of the city.
Interested persons are asked to submit a letter of application addressed to the mayor and city council, 180 N.E. Second St., Hermiston. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m., Aug. 1.
