The Harkenrider Senior Activity Center recently began providing round-trip transportation for its lunches on Thursdays. To make arrangements for a ride, call 541-567-3582 before 10 a.m.
The center serves lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12-12:30 p.m. at 255 N.E. Second St., Hermiston. The meals cost $5 per person and are free for ages 10 and under.
In addition, takeout meals are available for pickup from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. To ensure an accurate meal count, call by 11 a.m. for in-person and takeout meals. Also, Meals on Wheels is available in Hermiston. Call before 10 a.m. to place a delivery order.
Donations of fresh fruits and vegetables from your gardens are greatly appreciated. And as an ongoing fundraiser, the center accepts recyclable bottles and cans.
